So, you
want to be a member of Ensemble Studio Theatre The LA Project.
Applying for
membership is relatively simple.
Becoming a member is less so.
Your Application
must contain:
- Three (3)
letters of recommendation from members.
- A resume,
and photo if applicable.
- Writing
sample, if applicable.
- A letter
from you stating your reasons for wanting to join the company
and what you believe you offer the company.
Before
Applying:
Get involved
in the community of the theatre.
Get to know members, attend events, volunteer, volunteer, volunteer,
put your work out there.
Make a difference as an artist and a person.
Patience
is a virtue:
Submit your
application to the Members' Council via the "New Members"
person.
That person is currently:

The Members’
Council votes on new members twice a year, so be patient. If your
application is approved, you become an Associate Member of Ensemble
Studio Theatre-LA for a period of one year. During this year,
you will enjoy all privileges and responsibilities of membership,
except voting privileges. After the one-year probationary period,
your application is reviewed again. If finalized, you become a
full member of Ensemble Studio Theatre-LA. If you’d like,
your application is then forwarded to Ensemble Studio Theatre
(New York) for consideration by the New York Member’s Council.
If approved in New York, you will have full privileges in the
New York company as well. Acceptance into Ensemble Studio TheatreLA
does not guarantee acceptance into Ensemble Studio Theatre (New
York).
If at first
you donšt succeed . . .
Membership in Ensemble
Studio Theatre-LA is a lifelong commitment from the theatre to
you, and as such we do not take it lightly. It is not unusual
to spend several years with
the company before being accepted for membership, so, again be
patient and take the long view!
