Ensemble Studio Theatre-LA is proud of our tradition of developing and introducing new American plays and playwrights.

PLAY SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

Due to a backlog of scripts, we are not accepting new submissions at this time.

GENERAL POLICY

EST-LA accepts unsolicited manuscripts from literary agents. If you do not have an agent, you can send us a letter of introduction with a synopsis of the play, the first ten pages of the script and a character list with specifics about age, gender and ethnicity as well as the play's production history (if any). Only scripts that have not premiered in Los Angeles will be considered. If the material interests us, we will contact you with a request for the complete script.

We will accept submissions of full-length plays directly from members of the ensemble.

FULL-LENGTH PLAYS

Full-length submissions will be considered for our FIRST LOOK staged reading series. Selected plays are rehearsed by a professional director and actors and presented before an invited audience. This process is an opportunity for writers to refine their work within a challenging and supportive environment. FIRST LOOK plays are seriously considered for future production.

ONE-ACT PLAYS

Please note: there is no West Coast Marathon currently scheduled.
